Move onto some heavier weights!-Women and Weight Lifting

A full on muscular look is not really what most women are wanting. They tend to want a more sexy look, toned and proportionate. This is one of the reasons it is not easy to find women at the gym pumping large weights. Building muscle for women, without looking manly, is an issue purely because of the amount of misinformation in the market. Most women tend to believe that they will look like a man, if they train like a man. Being that our male and female hormones act in different ways, there is no risk of this happening.

Move onto some heavier weights!

To avoid any risk of bulking, some women stick with toning, and light lifting work.

This is not something that is recommended.

In order to tone your body to get tighter, you have no option but to build muscle. Most women though, seem reluctant to lift heavier weights, in case they start to bulk up. So to put your mind at rest, as mentioned earlier, due to the differences between male and female hormones, there is no risk of this happening. In general terms, women will be stronger than before, without having built up huge amounts of muscle. Remember that even men have a tough time building muscle mass, and it is harder for women to achieve this, than it is for men.

Toning your body and getting firmer, requires a heavier weight lifting routine. If you want to start on light weights, that’s cool, but remember to gradually increase the weight you are lifting as you get into your program. You are going to build muscles, only if you can keep them working. They need to feel strained in order to become denser. Another important thing to remember is to keep increasing the reps, and do more sets, so that you are always doing better today than you did yesterday.

Building Muscle For Women – The Key is Low Body Fat

Having low body fat is what is going to allow you to look toned when you have done all that exercise. Although you may be doing wonders on your abs because you are working them hard, the results will not be visible if you have a layer of body fat on your midsection. A good program of circuit training is what some people need to reduce their body fat levels, prior to commencing their muscle building program.

Building Muscle for Women Doesn’t Mean Bulking

Okay so hopefully this important information has shown you that there is no reason at all to be afraid of lifting weights at the gym. When you find yourself a good weight lifting program, continue to put your muscles under pressure to get the best from it. Make sure also, that your body fat levels are kept low so you can actually see and feel the full results of your exercise.
