Guys or girls who have been smoking for more than few decades have a very high percentage chance of getting acid reflux condition. Acid reflux worsens itself in those affected with each day that goes by.

The Gastroenterologists of New York University Medical Center already have tested this and confirmed to be a fact that increased intake of salt can increase the risk of developing acid reflux.

Symptoms can be noticed by the individual himself and enables the family physician to initiate the acid reflux treatment. There are number of ways on how to treat this disease. Some management includes drugs such as antacid, modification of diet, elevation of the head when lying down, or the last resort will be surgery. Prevention is better than cure.
